I was born and raised on the Cape and graduated from Bridgewater State College with a Degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Public Relations.
How I Got into Radio: Graduated from college in 2004, had my first 2 “real” jobs and wasn’t happy. I heard an ad for Connecticut School of Broadcasting and had my epiphany that I wanted to work in radio. I graduated from broadcasting school in 2008 and started working at PIXY 103 as an intern last summer. I was able to move up into the Promotions dept. and into some on air work. I love working here and am thrilled to start my radio career at PIXY 103!
What I Do at PIXY 103: Weekend Warrior jock, as well as head up the Promotions Department
Favorite Classic Rock Band: I’d have to go with CCR- something about John Fogerty’s voice….
Favorite New Band: Though they’re not exactly “new”, I fell in love with Pearl Jam back in ’91 and they remain my favorite band to this day.
Album That Changed My Life: Definitely Pearl Jam’s Ten, I still get goosebumps when I hear “Black”. More recently, one of my favorite albums is My Chemical Romance’s The Black Parade.
Favorite TV Shows: 30 Rock, the office, Eastbound and Down, Summer Heights High, Friday Night Lights, Dexter, Scrubs, Mad Men, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and the list goes on- I’m a television junkie, I give my DVR quite a workout.
Favorite Movies: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Finding Neverland, American Beauty. A recent favorite is The Wrestler
Favorite Books/Magazines: I love my Entertainment Weekly. All time favorite book is Catcher in the Rye, though I have many other favorites.
Job I Would like to Have If I Wasn’t on the Radio: Ideally, I’d like to be talented enough to write for a show like 30 Rock or Best Week Ever.
Favorite Celebrity: Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet
Least Favorite Celebrity: Miley Cyrus- that girl has no talent; I don’t see the fuss over her. She’s obnoxious.
Person I Would Most like to Meet Dead or Alive: Eddie Vedder
When Not On the Air at PIXY 103, you’ll find me: Going to concerts, spending time with family (especially my kitten, PJ) and friends, working on the Road Crew at WZLX in Boston, and traveling any chance I get.
